Kentucky Community & Technical College System
Timothy R. Burcham, CFRE, serves as the Vice President
for Advancement for KCTCS, which comprises 16 two-year colleges with 65
campuses throughout Kentucky. Tim is responsible for state-level policies,
procedures, planning, budgeting, and coordination of all private
fund-raising activities, strategic planning, marketing and communications,
alumni affairs, and governmental affairs of the System. He also serves as
the KCTCS Legislative Liaison to the Kentucky General Assembly in Frankfort,
the Kentucky delegation in the U.S. Congress, and as the Executive Director
of the KCTCS Foundation, Inc., the System's independent statewide
foundation.
Prior to joining KCTCS as Vice President in 1998, Tim spent more than 20
years at the University of Kentucky in three major capacities - as the
Director of Freshman Admissions from 1979-86; as the Associate Director of
Development for the UK Medical Center from 1986-90; and finally as the first
and only Director of Development for the UK Community College System from
1990 until the UKCCS was merged into KCTCS in 1997.
Tim currently serves as Chair of the Association of Fundraising
Professionals (AFP), after serving one year as Chair-Elect and two years as
the Secretary of the AFP Board of Directors, and more than fifteen years in
a variety of committee and division leadership positions. He is also
the founding national chair of the AFP Political Action Committee for
Philanthropy, the first of its kind in the nation. In addition to his
national roles, Tim has served on the AFP Bluegrass Chapter Board and on the
Board of Directors for the Kentucky chapter of the Council for the
Advancement of Education (CASE-K). Tim holds a Bachelor's Degree in Speech
and Language Arts from Marshall University, and a Masters of Science in
Higher Education Administration from the University of Kentucky.

The speakers will provide critical information on the requirements and
filings for charitable solicitation within the City of Los Angeles.
This Professional Development Seminar will be extremely helpful for
professionals with direct responsibility for fund-raising events, mailings,
and other types of solicitations. Additionally, the Seminar will be of
general interest to all fund-raising professionals
and volunteers.
We will also be recognizing the finalists within each of the
National Philanthropy Day categories.

No On-Site Registrations will be allowed for this
event.
All attendees MUST be pre-registered.
